It's 90 degrees in my house, my car is in the shop until tomorrow, and it's a little late to be waiting outside for a bus to the nearest ice cream place. I searched through my fridge to see what I have to make it myself. I found a carton of heavy whipping cream that was 90% empty. I just made ice cream out of about 2 ounces of heavy whipping cream, 3 ounces of whole milk, a teaspoon of sugar, and a couple drops of vanilla. Total yield was about 3 tablespoons of ice cream, not counting the stuff that was frozen to the ice cream maker bowl. Better than nothing.

It's unbearable this week, isn't it?! Your desperation for ice cream is adorable. I honestly got a little passive aggressively angry at my KitchenAid ice cream attachment yesterday since you have to freeze the thing for 15 hours before you can actually make anything in it. Instant gratification is needed in 90 degree heat, don't ice cream manufacturers know this? Better luck for us all today!

Thanks Erin! My ice cream maker was given to me as a gift, and I was lucky enough to also be given an extra freezer bowl (so two in all), so that there's always one in the freezer. (This has saved me from many an ice cream-less evening.) Good luck with the heat today!
