About Dana
My name is Dana Zemack. (My first name is pronounced dah-na. It rhymes with Lana.) I am a chocolate enthusiast. I lead chocolate tastings, sometimes teach workshops or speak about chocolate, and throw public and private chocolate tasting parties. I also created The Tasty Show Chocolate Tasting Kit, which is pretty sweet. (Ha. That’s a joke.)
My love affair with chocolate officially began on February 14, 2003, when I made a chocolate sculpture for a friend. After that, I started teaching chocolate sculpting classes locally at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education.
My “Crafting with Chocolate” classes were very popular. Shortly thereafter, I came up with the concept for my first chocolate tasting party while sitting in an empty warehouse reading a chapter about chocolate in Zingerman’s Guide to Good Eating. After testing out various chocolate tasting methodologies and teaching a couple tasting workshops at the Cambridge Center, I organized The Tasty Show Chocolate Tasting Party, my debut public chocolate tasting at the Zeitgeist Gallery in Cambridge, MA. I made 1000 truffles for that party. They were gone within 35 minutes. We ended up breaking up the chocolate sculptures and eating them.
Since then, my chocolate expertise has continued to grow. I have organized countless public tasting events and have shared my thoughts about fine chocolate in this blog, in other people’s blogs, and in a lot of newspapers and magazines.
The Tasty Show (which was originally an actual show) is where I share my experiences – mostly about chocolate. When I’m not tasting chocolate or throwing tasting parties, I run Zemack PR & Communications.
Thanks for visiting.
